We hope you’ll have the chance to visit the library on a Thursday afternoon so Martha Perkins can assist you at the circulation desk. Martha has been volunteering at the library since the new building opened in February, 2013. She grew up near Bryan and lived in Houston for 57 years where, in addition to raising her three children, Martha and her husband owned a marine supply and service shop. Martha’s three granddaughters are the joy of her life and in 2012 she moved to the Hill Country to be closer to the youngest of the three. Martha proudly reports that she helped her youngest granddaughter get settled into her first year of college just this past month! Besides volunteering weekly at the library, Martha serves as the Financial Secretary at her church and teaches senior adult Sunday School. Martha is an avid reader and she averages at least four books each week. Thank you, Martha, for your dedicated service to the library and our community!
