Lake Travis High School Art Exhibit & Reception
The library will
display artwork from the Lake Travis High School visual arts
award winning program during the month of April. An artistsí
reception will be held on Thursday, April 17th from 5-6pm
and is open to the public.
The exhibit will
showcase artwork created by students for the Scholastic Art
and Writing regional competition this past February.
Established by Maurice Robinson, founder of Scholastic Books
Inc., it is the largest and most prestigious recognition
program and source of scholarships for creative teens in the
U.S. Students Ben Rodgers and April Owusu both earned
national recognition. Be sure to stop by and appreciate the
talent in our community!

Bluegrass Concert with Eddie Dickerson - Friday, April 18th
Join us for a
family concert with Eddie Dickerson on Friday, April 18th at
Growing up in a musical family, Eddie began learning the
violin at age five.
introduced to many styles of music like Bluegrass and
Country and, by the age of ten, he was performing in church
services. By age fourteen, he was playing in his own rock
band. Throughout his 20s, Eddie has played with many bands
including Here Today, Junk Science, Wil Gravatt Band, and
the Bluegrass Believers. With a recent move to Austin, he is
currently playing in the local duo Fog and Bone and the
Melissa Brooke Band. Join us for a toe-tapping good time!
The library will be closed on Sunday, April 20th in
recognition of Easter.
Sullins Stuart - Imagine Believe Become - Thursday,
April 24th at 6pm
spiritual teacher, and author
Stuart will discuss key aspects of his book Imagine
Believe Become: Unlock Your Potential and Create the Life
on Thursday, April 24th at 6pm. Stuart holds a masters in
counseling and has studied spirituality, philosophy, and
psychology for over twenty-five years. He has lectured
across the United States and Mexico City, and his spiritual
articles have been published in the
Austin American Statesman.

First Annual Lake Travis Community Library Spelling Bee -
Tuesday, April 29th at 7pm
Can you spell
supercalifragilisticexpialidocious? Come to the library
on Tuesday, April 29th at 7pm for
Annual Lake Travis Community Library Spelling Bee!
Participation is open to the first 20 spellers ages 14 or
older to sign up. Come and show your support for the
spellers by cheering them on! There will be trophies,
refreshments, and adult beverages. Join us for some fun and
friendly competition! The event is sponsored by the Friends
of the Library.
