One of the Friends’ special projects is supporting teen service scholarships. Each year the Friends of the Library award scholarships to one or more graduating teen volunteers planning to continue their education. For more information, please see the Teen Page.

The Lakeway and West library locations both have a used bookstore. A labor of love, each bookstore is staffed entirely by volunteers from the Friends of the Lake Travis Community Library. All proceeds from bookstore sales fund Friends of the Library projects, so when you shop you are supporting the library and getting a great bargain at the same time! Noteworthy projects include a scholarship program, which awards financial assistance to teen volunteers who are continuing their education, and Summer Reading Program initiatives.
For your convenience, the bookstore accepts payment by cash and Venmo.
The bookstores accept book donations any time the library is open. They do not accept Reader’s Digests or encyclopedias and ask that all donations be in good condition.

We encourage you to visit our Seed Library, a community resource designed to inspire local growers and gardeners. Our collection features a variety of seeds, including flowers, vegetables, greens, and more. The Seed Library is located in the Friends Bookstore at West and housed in a beautifully handcrafted cabinet donated by Scout Kyla Callary for her Eagle Project. We gladly accept any seed donations and you are welcome to take the seeds, even if you are not able to donate. Stop by and start planting!
At this time, exhibiting artists are showing their work at the Lakeway location only.
The Friends of the Library sponsor ongoing rotating art exhibits which feature a different artist every month. Local artists interested in being a part of this program should pick up a packet containing the policy and application form at the library.
