Volunteer Program
Adult Volunteers
Volunteer opportunities include shelving materials, helping as a technology coach, working in the Friends of the Library Bookstore, processing new materials, or helping with special programs. We ask that volunteers commit to at least one weekly two or three hour shift and at least six months of service. Please complete the Volunteer Application Form and we will be sure to find the right position for you. If you have any questions please stop by the library or contact Mariah Froehlich at [email protected] or (512) 263-2885. As a volunteer you are automatically considered a Friend of the Library; please visit the Friends of the Library page for more information.
Teen Volunteers
Students age 13 and older commit to weekly two or three hour shifts. Teens work directly with patrons and staff by shelving, organizing, assisting with duties at the circulation desk, and working on special projects. Volunteers should have a mature attitude and be responsible, dependable, and able to work independently. The volunteer program offers students a fun way to complete community service hours and the opportunity to be awarded a scholarship their senior year. If you have any questions, please visit the library or contact Teen Volunteer Coordinator Beth Yoder at [email protected] or (512) 263-2885.
There are 3 volunteer sessions each year.
Fall Session – August 7 through December 30, 2023. Applications for the fall session are now closed.
